  { On a Friday of Lent are you allowed to eat meat if a friend offers it to you for dinner? }

Mike replied:

Hi, Christian —

Thanks for the good question.

No, you may not. Just politely segue by explaining that you are giving up meat for Fridays of Lent.

Since the Season of Lent is known worldwide as a time of penance for Christians, if they respect your faith, they should respect you wishes and explanation, even if they are not Christians.

If they are Catholic, you now know you have a friendship with someone that does not take the faith seriously.

  • If you cherish your faith, is that someone you want to be around?

I hope this helps,

Mike
