Jonjie Nillama wrote:

Hi, guys —

The Catholic parish where I go to lost my record of Baptism.

  • How to get my baptismal certificate for marriage purposes?

They require the Marriage Contract of my parents and my Voter ID.

  • Is this necessary for getting my baptismal certificate?
  • Why do some churches suggest using an affidavit?

It's so confusing.

Please help!

Jonjie

  { If my parish has lost my Baptismal certificate, how do I get it back for marriage purposes? }

Fr. Jonathan replied:

Jonjie,

Check with your diocese as to what the Church needs.

They may be following diocesan rules but they might be making this up.

My diocese would only require two affidavits.

Fr. Jonathan
