Worried Walter wrote:

Hi, guys —

I have contracted genital warts from my wife due to infidelity within our marriage. We are getting a divorce which now has been going for 14 months.

  • If I ever were to think about marrying again, would wearing condoms as to not pass on the HPV virus to my spouse be acceptable or not acceptable in my Catholic faith?

Walter

  { If I contemplated marrying, would using condoms be all right to prevent passing on the HPV virus? }

Mike replied:

Dear Worried,

No, it would not be acceptable because it would be hindering or blocking the life-giving aspects of the way both men and women’s bodies were created by God.

I would seek out a faithful priest for counsel and ask if they are know of any Catholic doctors who are as faithful to their practice as they are to their faith.

That’s the best advice I can suggest.

Mike
