Hi, guys —

First of all, thank you very much answering my previous questions. They were very informative and strengthened my Catholic faith. Allow me to ask a few more questions. Anti-Catholics attacked us on several issues.

  • How can we refute their attack about the Holy Inquisition?
  • How can we refute their claimed that the Catholic Church burned the original Bible?

Also, we say that the Catholic Church was founded in year 33 A.D.

  • How do we arrive at the year 33 A.D.?
  • What is our proof?

Dear Bern,

This is a common question; it's even in our searchable knowledge base:

There are a lot of quick answers there, so give it a try.

History itself Bern! Have you studied basic history and Church history. The Catholic Church is the only Church Jesus established on St. Peter before ascending into Heaven.

No matter how many people hate the Church's teachings, that is a historical fact.

Our Church is the sole guardian of Jesus' Divine Teachings, though there are many other Church's in partial communion with us.

Anyones hatred for Church teachings are a reflection of a hatred for Jesus Himself.

A good friend of mine, Clayton Bower Jr., who passed on to eternity, left us with some very good talks done with St. Joseph Communications. This one is really good.

The only Bibles the Church burned were Bibles with typos or publishing errors in them.

I hope this helps,

Mike

Bern,

A good book on the Spanish Inquisition is by a Jew, Henry Kamen:

The Inquisition And Society in Spain in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries (1985).
