Lawrence Tricker wrote:

Hi, guys —

I have a question about special blessings.

  • Does the Church have a special blessing that can be given to a woman who is about to be married?

I am thinking of something like a blessing on the woman as a daughter of the Blessed Mother soon to be married.

I ask because my girlfriend and I live in different countries and, if possible, I thought it might be nice to have a special blessing of some kind for the intended bride.

Hi, Larry —

Off hand, I don't know.

If you want a papal blessing, these postings will show you how to get one:

Fr. Jonathan may be able to address getting other blessings before a marriage.

Fr. Jonathan replied:

Hi, Lawrence —

From the Book of Blessings there is a blessing of engaged couples. I do not see one for just the future Bride.

Fr. Jonathan
