Lt. Col. (Ret.) Rick Ford wrote:

Hi, guys —

As a military veteran I am authorized to be buried in a VA National Military Cemetery.

  • Would doing so be in keeping with our faith?

Bob replied:

Rick,

There is no problem with being buried in the military cemetery; Catholics are frequently buried there.

Hopefully it won't be anytime soon.

Peace,

Bob Kirby

Mike replied:

Dear Lieutenant Colonel —

For all of us on the AskACatholic.com team, I just wanted to thank both you, and the rest of those serving our country, both actively and inactively, for your service.

It is your service that has given our team the ability to answer questions and clarify misperceptions about the Catholic faith on a regular basis. Without the freedoms we are blessed to have in America, we would never be able to do this work.

Thanks to you and all service men.
Sorry ladies, as you can guess, I'm not a PC (politically correct) guy, plus didn't you come from Adam's rib? : )

Mike
