Hi, guys —

I am a believer in the Catholic faith but I never really practiced the faith, as my beliefs were not strong.

  • What would be the best way for a man to start his true path into the Catholic faith?

Thank you,

Shawn Kulla

Mike replied:

Hi, Shawn —

Thanks for the good question.

It depends. If you were baptized as a Catholic:

  • Go to Confession and share with the Confessor what you've told us.
  • Start making your Sunday obligation, (Sunday Mass), and
  • Find out what we believe by getting a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
You can get them pretty cheap on-line.
  • Also start a daily prayer life, if possible, I'd recommend saying the Rosary.

See if there are any ministries the parish has, that you like, and can get involved in.

If you are a baptized non-Catholic Christian or non-Christian check out my FREE Catechism of the Catholic Church for non-Catholics. There is no obligation other then just reading the Catechism and learning what we believe.

I usually throw in a lot of Catholic extras too!

Another great resource we have is our Recommended Reading page.
For the non-Catholic Christian, I would personally recommend:
