Hi, guys —

We are getting married in Ireland. My fiancé is Irish and I am Lithuanian. He has his Baptismal and Confirmation certificate; my priest in Lithuania has my Baptismal certificate but he said they do not hold Confirmation records.

  • Will this be an issue?

My priest said he needs it.

  • Can this be bypassed?

Rima

Mary Ann replied:

Hi, Rima —

He needs your Baptismal certificate.

The Confirmation is usually noted on the Baptismal certificate.

You do not need to be confirmed in order to wed.

Mary Ann
