Hi, guys —

  • What is the Catholic Church's stand on a Catholic meeting with a psychic who communicates with the dead?

John replied:

Hi, Maryann —

This sort of occult behavior is condemned by the Church. Scripture is very clear:

  • witchcraft
  • sorcery
  • summoning the dead
  • astrology
  • card readings, and
  • fortune telling

are serious sin and are to be avoided at all cost.

Going to a psychic is also potentially dangerous. You would be opening yourself up to demonic realm and inviting demonic oppression or possession.

Stay away from it!!
